The Zephyr Project will be in Brussels for FOSDEM 2026, taking place on January 31 – February 1, as part of the broader EU Open Source Week. This week-long series of events is one of the most vibrant moments in the global open source calendar, bringing together developers, maintainers, companies, policymakers, and communities from around the world.
Zephyr Project at FOSDEM 2026
FOSDEM is a free, open, and community powered event where thousands of developers gather to share ideas and collaborate, no registration required. This year, the Zephyr Project will share a stand with the Dronecode Foundation.
Stop by the stand to:
- See products running Zephyr
- Watch live demos
- Meet project developers and maintainers
- Learn more about security best practices, the CRA, and embedded systems innovation
If you are a Zephyr developer and would like to spend some time at the stand sharing your insights and experience with Zephyr or if you would simply like to meet other community members at FOSDEM, join the Zephyr Discord server and look for the FOSDEM 2026 channel to coordinate with the community.
Zephyr Project Meetup (January 30, 2026): Brussels, Belgium
Ahead of FOSDEM, the Zephyr community will host an in-person meetup in Brussels. This is a great opportunity for deeper technical discussions and community networking in a smaller, focused setting.
⚠️ Seats are limited, so registration is required.
If you would like to know the meetup agenda, please check this blog post “What to expect at Zephyr Project Meetup (January 30, 2026): Brussels, Belgium“. And if you have a lightning talk idea related to Zephyr RTOS, we encourage you to submit a proposal via the CFP linked here.
Zephyr RTOS Community BoF (Unconference) – January 31, 2026 | 16:00–16:55
Join the Zephyr RTOS community for an informal BoF session at FOSDEM. This open discussion is designed for maintainers, contributors, product builders, and anyone curious about Zephyr.
Topics will include:
- Roadmap: As Zephyr turns 10, where should the community focus over the next decade?
- Feedback from product makers: Real-world experiences—what’s working well and what isn’t
- Project health: Open discussion on how the community and project can continue to improve
- Bring your questions, ideas, and honest feedback.

A Week-Long Look at Open Source in Europe
If you are planning your visit, FOSDEM is just the beginning. From January 26 to February 1, Brussels hosts EU Open Source Week, featuring conferences, meetups, policy discussions, and a growing ecosystem of community-run FOSDEM Fringe events across the city.
Together, these events make EU Open Source Week one of the richest opportunities for collaboration, learning, and connection in the global open source ecosystem.
More details will be shared as we get closer to the event. Stay tuned to this page for updates.
