The ZMA Digital Transmitter: A high-performance powerhouse designed to give complete command over your data in industrial automation and precision measurement processes

The ZMA Digital Transmitter is a high-performance powerhouse designed to give you complete command over your data in industrial automation and precision measurement processes. With its 24-bit high resolution and sampling rate of up to 1000 Hz, it captures even the slightest signal variations, processing a wide 4-channel analog sensor range—including 4-20mA, 0-10V, and various mV/V inputs—with an accuracy better than 0.05%. This superior precision ensures reliable results in both dynamic tests and critical static measurements.

Offering flexibility and ease of integration in field applications, the device communicates seamlessly with PLC and SCADA systems via Modbus RTU (RS485), Modbus TCP, and RS232 interfaces. Its adjustable adaptive digital filter technology enhances signal stability by eliminating environmental noise, while the built-in 3 digital inputs and 3 digital outputs (relays) allow you to directly manage alarm and control processes. Additionally, data and device status can be monitored instantly in the field thanks to the on-board seven-segment display.

Built to withstand harsh industrial conditions with its IP65-rated front panel and wide operating temperature range, the ZMA offers a cost-effective solution across many sectors, from process control to weight measurement. Its multi-sensor support and high-speed data processing capacity in a single device not only lower inventory costs but also future-proof your operation’s measurement infrastructure.

How ZMA Data Acquisition Utilizes Zephyr

This is a ZMA Data Acquisition product – an industrial multi-channel data acquisition (DAQ) device built on the Zephyr RTOS using the “T2 Workspace” topology pattern.

Key Zephyr Features Used
1. West Workspace (T2 Topology)
Uses west.yml manifest to manage dependencies
Imports selective Zephyr modules: cmsis_6, hal_stm32, mcuboot, mbedtls
Custom west commands in west-commands.yml

2. Custom Board Support
Custom boards: zma_v1 and zma_v2 (STM32F401-based)
Board files include: devicetree (.dts), Kconfig, defconfig, and board YAML
Also supports nucleo_f302r8 via overlay files

3. Device Drivers (Zephyr Subsystems)
Driver Purpose
GPIO LEDs (error, comm), RS485 enable
ADC MCP3564 external ADC for sensor reading
SPI Communication with MCP3564 ADC
UART Console logging & Modbus RTU
PWM LED control
EEPROM Configuration storage

4. MCUboot Integration
Uses Zephyr’s sysbuild for bootloader
MCUboot configured in single-app mode
RSA-2048 signature key for secure boot
