The Things Conference 2025

September 23 - September 24

We are excited to announce that the Zephyr Project will be an official Ecosystem Partner at The Things Conference 2025, the premier global event for LPWAN and IoT technologies. Taking place on September 23 – 24, 2025, in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, this event will spotlight cutting-edge advancements in embedded systems, open source innovation, and low-power wireless technologies. As an Ecosystem Partner, the Zephyr Project will be actively contributing to the conference program through a series of keynotes, workshops, roundtables, and panel discussions. These sessions will highlight Zephyr’s continued leadership in the embedded ecosystem, focusing on its role as a modular, open source RTOS built for low-power and resource constrained devices.

“Zephyr is a cornerstone in modern embedded development,” said Wienke Giezeman, CEO of The Things Industries and initiator of The Things Network. “Its integration with LPWAN and wireless technologies enables developers to create secure and scalable IoT solutions. We are excited to have the Zephyr Project contribute to The Things Conference 2025 through keynotes, workshops, and panels, providing invaluable insights to our global community.”

The Zephyr Project’s engagement at the conference will emphasize the increasing importance of memory safety in embedded systems, e.g. through the adoption of Rust, a programming language renowned for its safety and performance. By incorporating Rust, Zephyr enhances the development of secure and reliable IoT applications.

“The embedded industry is witnessing a significant shift towards Zephyr RTOS,” said Kate Stewart, Vice President of Dependable Embedded Systems at the Linux Foundation. “At The Things Conference, we will showcase the wide range of innovations emerging in the embedded ecosystem.”
