How I migrated my Artificial Nose to Zephyr… in hours! // Zephyr Tech Talk #006

By November 13, 2023No Comments

Tune in on Wednesday, Nov. 22 (9:00 AM EST / 3:00 PM CET) for a new Zephyr Tech Talk live stream!

At the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, Benjamin Cabé set out to build a device that would help him improve his bread-making skills. The result was an Arduino-based “artificial nose” that used a gas sensor and machine learning (TinyML) to learn and detect scents (like the smell of perfectly fermented sourdough). This project has inspired hundreds of individuals over the years but the code behind it was, frankly, hackish.

In this Tech Talk, Benjamin will walk us through how he rewrote the entire codebase to leverage Zephyr and make it easier for himself, and the community, to extend the project and run it on a variety of hardware targets. From Zbus to LVGL to integrating with Edge Impulse, this talk will cover a lot of ground and dive into the actual code of this “v2” of Benjamin’s infamous artificial nose! 👃

Zephyr Tech Talks are live streams organized by and for the Zephyr community. Join us live to get a chance to ask your questions directly to our guests, or simply catch up the recording anytime afterwards!
